This sermon was preached in my local church on Palm Sunday and looks at the two gospels for that day; the entry to Jerusalem and the Passion story. Back in February of this year I took part in the Mark Drama for the second time as part of the Christian Union’s Events week. The drama is essentially Mark’s Gospel acted out with no props or costumes. I bring this up because the reason I volunteered to do it the second time was because I had found that it had drawn me deeper into the Gospel especially the part we had as our second Gospel reading today. Jesus’ arrest and crucifixion in the play are incredibly moving and the first time we did it I had a hard time keeping myself together as I stood as the centurion at the foot of the cross as John cried out and wept behind me.

AuthorAn Anglican Curate in my 20's I was raised in an Anglican Church, went to a Youth Club run by an Evangelical Church, attended a Baptist Church while at Uni and was a member of a New Monastic Community after graduating. As such my faith has been influenced by these experiences and traditions into what I hope is a more rounded viewpoint. Archives
